Space: The final frontier. These are the voyages of the country of Canada. Its lifelong mission: To explore the infinite realm of space. To seek out new discoveries and progress forward. To boldly go where no Canadian has gone before.
The Canadian Space Agency or CSA is the space program designated by the Canadian Government to represent the country of Canada on the International Space Station. It attributes many contributions in the way of science along with sustaining economic development. The program is fairly new with only eleven Canadians having been in space, so they need new recruits so as to further their exploration capabilities. The recruits must go through a lot of intense training, both physical and intellectual in order to travel above the atmosphere aboard a rocket. Before you even begin training, you must have very specific qualifications as to be selected. Potential Astronauts must go through training including CSA history, SCUBA diving, multilanguages, first aid, and survival training. The agencies potential is as infinite as space itself, with new advances being made each day and it's only limit being its lack of human participants. A new generation of astronauts loyal to Canada could form Canada into a strong superpower on the way to being as influential as the United States of America.
Aboard the ISS, Canadian astronauts perform experiments with robotics, bio-science, and sound. Chris Hadfield, a Canadian astronaut, is the first person to record an album in space, and continues to create many media spectacles aboard the space station. An astronaut only goes to space a few times, but when they do it is a 24 hour job that includes assembly, maintenance, experiments, and exercise aboard the ISS. Meals are provided and mostly include dried salmon, maple syrup candies, and berries. It is a great job that pays well and brings much recognition and fame.
¨There are no wishy-washy astronauts. You don't get up there by being uncaring and blase. And whatever gave you the sense of tenacity and purpose to get that far in life is absolutely reaffirmed and deepened by the experience itself.¨ -Chris Hadfield. Becoming a Canadian astronaut is a long and strenuous process that involves much training and intelligence, But if you are successful, it can be the best job ever. So who knows, maybe you can even become an astronaut for the Canadian Space Agency.
This post has sparked my interest in becoming Canadian and joining the astronaut program. You can contact me at this address. Hopefully this will be a worthwhile opertunity

ReplyDeleteI love the passion Chris Hadfield shows towards his career. How much of a role do you feel passion plays in the success of a person?
