Biochemical engineering has been shaping the world since the beginning dating as far back as 4100 B.C. with the fermentation of wine, and making of cheese. But what is biochemical engineering? Well, biochemical engineering is the development of processes and systems from chemical or organic materials to create products used by the public. So why make a career out of it? Well for one, it’s job that continues to educate, and two well let’s be honest, the pay isn’t bad, not at all.
Being a Biochemical engineer is like being a family baker except not quite knowing the recipe. The mother or in this case the biochemist does. She makes the recipe, and sends it off to be baked. But to be a good “baker” you have to be at the edge of new high-end “ingredients” or formulas, machinery and solutions. That means constantly learning, so when you think you know it all, you don’t. In this career boredom doesn’t even exist neither does the phrase “been there done that.” And if looking to climb up the career scale and earn lots of moolah, then a higher degree is definitely needed.
And speaking of higher salary, this job definitely has buck. According to www.sokanu.com and www.careerinfonet.org, just starting out, the average salary is $46.32 an hour, but here in Texas it’s $50.92 an hour. ;) Plus with the added bonus of being ranked 5th for highest demand (9, 720) , it’s a shoe in for a high paying job. Imagine being able to tow in about $105, 920 just in a year. Wowwowwee!
Being a Biochemical Engineer is a job that never fails to keep you learning, and it doesn’t fail to reach your pockets. As a Biochemical Engineer, you’ll be able to produce great products used by everyday people, like medicine tablets, packaged food, and fertilizers. Become a Biochemical Engineer, a change the world today!
