HUMAN RIGHTS LAWER-Jacob F.
Lawyers have been an important job in today's world and in our government and human rights lawyers are no exception. Most people rely upon the law to help disputing parties resolve conflicts and differences, but most of the time some people are screwed over because their own human rights are violated or ignored in court that's why human right lawyers are here to insure that that won't happen again.Human rights is not a specific area of law. People who deal with human rights issues may specialise in a range of areas such as immigration, mental health, environment law, public law, discrimination, criminal justice, property, insurance in almost all areas of law.Human rights cases involve individuals who feel other individuals or public authorities have abused their civil rights. So they might be a prisoner who has been mistreated by prison staff, or someone with a mental illness who is being discriminated against at work. Fundamentally, being a human rights lawyer means challenging discrimination and defending the rights and freedoms of ordinary people and organisations. On an international level this means safeguarding those rights and freedoms no matter where in the world they are under threat. If you want to shape and influence policy and change people's lives, rather than make big bucks on corporate transactions in the City, then the first thing you need to do is think about whose lives you want to change and why? What causes are most important to you? What human rights abuses inspire you to take action?
