If you are willing to put in the work, you can start working in one of the highest paid careers in America. As many of you may know, it can be difficult to get hired and get a job that pays well, but if you work as an anesthesiologist, you can have both. Anesthesiologists have an employment rate of 99.6% and are one of the highest paying professions in America with a median annual salary of over $235,000. An added bonus is that if you don't want to work too far from home, you can work as an anesthesiologist in Dallas, Texas where some of the highest paid anesthesiologists work. I understand that the amount of training, additional education, and the high stress involved with this job may deter some from entering this career, but as Booker T. Washington wrote' "Nothing ever comes to me, that is worth having, except as the result of hard work." The numerous additional years of schooling will more than pay off in the future, and anesthesiologists are often taught to manage their stress when working under supervision as interns. Anesthesiologists also often have a supportive network of people in their co-workers because of how close and frequently they work together. I hope with this information, some of you consider entering anesthesiology.
